Last Sunday, a friend told me she loved my post on Sex and the City and mentioned she was re-watching the series. We chatted back and forth, talking about our most liked characters and memorable moments from the show, and I recommended my second favourite episode: "A Woman’s Right to Shoes."

In this episode, Carrie attends a baby shower hosted by her friend Kyra. Guests are required to remove their shoes, and Carrie reluctantly leaves her expensive Manolo Blahnik at the door. When it's time to leave, Carrie discovers that her shoes have been stolen. Kyra offers Carrie a pair of sneakers to walk home in. Days later, Carrie returns to Kyra’s house to ask about the shoes. Initially, Kyra seems willing to help and offers to pay for the shoes. But when Carrie mentions they were Manolo Blahnik, Kyra dismisses her, suggesting it's irresponsible to spend so much on shoes.
